Facebook, Facepalms

Urbandictionary states the following about Facepalm: "A spontaneous reaction to an amazingly stupid statement, where the face of the listener or reader meets with his/her palm in a smacking manner". And according to wikipedia "A facepalm is a gesture used as an expression of embarrassment, frustration, disbelief, disgust or general woe".

There have been quite a few occasions on which i was forced to do a Facepalm myself while on Facebook so i decided to write about some facepalm situations commonly witnessed on Facebook. The need for addressing the facepalm situation came about after i had read numerous insanely dimwitted Status Updates, viewed photographs and went through the comments left by my friends and their friends and their friends and so on, all the time feeling compelled to ask the only logical question, "WTF is wrong with you all"?.

From plain silly to mind numbingly stupid Status updates, Provocative and Socially Compromising pics, whenever i log on to Facebook i can't help but feel that people are getting moronic by the second, i mean first they pose in their underwear, post it on facebook for others to admire and comment and then complain about their privacy being invaded. Hello, if you want Privacy then stop inviting stalkers via a drool fest of your pictures. If you really are hungry and desperate for attention and are so willing to go to these extreme lengths for it, seek mental help rather then covering up your attention deficit syndrome.

Here are some common Facebook Facepalms i see most often:

Self Porn Portraits ( Don't invite Stalkers and for teens stop inviting pedo's)

Minute details in Status Updates ( Nobody wants to know when you went into the bathroom and for what)

Adding your boss to your friends list and complaining about your job (Classic Facepalm)

Gossiping about coworkers (Another vintage Facapalm)

Discussing your work related projects (Simply stupid, you know you have a "send private message" option for these kinds of things)

Discussing other employment opportunities ( How dumb can you be?)

Adding your immediate family members to your friends list and discussing your sex life (They don't need and want to know how you get your freak on)

The list can go on for very long but i seriously doubt it will have any effect on anybody because if it could Einstein wouldn't have said "There's a limit to everything but there's no limit for human stupidity".

From the Elite to the People of Pakistan

We will we will rob you
We will we will rob you

People you are our slaves trapped in vice
Protesting on the roads attempting to change us nice
We throw mud on your face
And Vanish without trace
Killing your dreams with malice

We will we will rob you
We will we will rob you

People you all are dumb ignorant mice
Protesting on the roads attempting to change us nice
You shed your blood for our race
Waving our flag with high pace
And in return get disgraced

We will we will rob you
We will we will rob you

People you all are fool poor men
Pleading with your eyes Bleeding, ending your worthless lives
We throw mud on your face
And Vanish without trace
Beneath our shoes is your true place

We will we will rob you
We will we will rob you

Pakistan Zindabad

Congratulations to all my Pakistani brothers and sisters for Pakistan has at last reached adulthood by passing the 18th amendment. We were politically, mentally and ethically minors when the 17th amendment was passed and by passing the 18th amendment we have proved that we are all grown up and adults, or have we really? the ground reality begs to differ. Just because we have an elected parliament along with a democratically elected president does not mean we have defeated the demons in ourselves and have no personal hidden agendas. No sir, it does not.

The people of Pakistan who had deposited all their eggs into the basket of democracy are still on the roads protesting, demanding and fighting for their very basic human and municipal rights. Electricity, Flour, Sugar just to name a few along with various other basic necessities are still no where to be found or are a luxury to afford.

MNA's and MPA's who were suspended by courts for fake Degrees and Certificates are getting tickets again and children are being molested, raped and mercilessly killed, i don't mean to sound negative or pessimistic and i am not implying or blaming democracy for these inhumane acts of terror but all this hurts even more now because we, the people of Pakistan had very high hopes for the rule of democracy, speedy and strict justice, accountability of all regardless of the stature, peace and a just society. But here we are, two something years in the rule of democracy still cursing ourselves and the government.

The saddest aspect of this entire scenario of autocracy disguised as democracy is somehow if mid term elections are held now or in the near future we would again choose the same people all over again to treat us like slaves. This is called being loyal and loyalty beyond any doubts or questions. But we can't help it, in our country we are always presented with two choices, chose the evil or the bad, so the choice that we make comes back to bite us right where it hurts the most.

For our politicians the age old saying should be redefined as "With great power comes an even greater opportunity to lie, cheat and steal" and that's exactly what they do.

Food for thought (Copied from a forwarded email)

Once a boy went to a shop with his mother. The shop keeper looked at the small cute child and showed him a bottle with sweets

And said 'Dear Child..u can take the sweets...

But the child didn't take. The shop keeper was surprised.. Such a small child he is and why is he not taking the sweets from the bottle. Again he said take the sweets....

Now the mother also heard that and said.. Take the sweets dear.. Yet he didn't take... The shopkeeper seeing the child not taking the sweets... He himself took the sweets and gave to the child. The child was happy to get two hands full of sweets.

While returning home the Mother asked the child... Why didn't you take the sweets, when the shop keeper told you to take?..

Can you guess the response: Child replies... Mom! My hands are very small and if I take the sweets I can only take few.. But now you see when uncle gave with his big hands.... How many more sweets I got!

Moral: When we take we may get little but when God gives... HE gives us more beyond our expectations. .. More than what we can hold..!!

In Honor of Google

Google search, Google search
Google all the way
Oh, what fun it is to search
In a one search field display
Google search, Google search
Google all the way
Oh, what fun it is to search
In a one search field display

Dashing through the web
Just a click away
Through the sites we go
Crawling all the way
Seeing the backlink's might
Making keywords bright
Great fun is optimizing right
A Highranking site tonight

Google search, Google search
Google all the way
Oh, what fun it is to search
In a one search field display
Google search, Google search
Google all the way
Oh, what fun it is to search
In a one search field display

A link or two ago
I thought I'd submit my site
And soon a rank on my page
Was witnessed by my sight
The crawler is fast and sharp
collecting is his forte
Tags and content is what he wants
if not then it gets upset

Oh, Google search, Google search
Google all the way
Oh, what fun it is to search
In a one search field display
Google search, Google search
Google all the way
Oh, what fun it is to search
In a one search field display, yeah
